“You can never have too many friends” my mom used to say. Well, she was right. Those of us who attended our Boston convention with the 93rd BG found that out. We learned a lot about each other for sure. We created relationships and friendships and appreciated how each organization worked and found out that we had so much in common. We became friends.
One highlight was the memorabilia room where we shared our Veterans’ stories. At the Memorial dinner, we honored those who had lost their lives for our freedom and viewed my favorite, the welcome video. We had several Veterans say hello to us via video presentations. Although they could not attend the event, we felt their presence along with our special Veterans in attendance—Allan Hallett and Don O’Reilly.
We accomplished so much (see our Boston Convention article in Issue #75 of The Heritage Herald. Thank you, Jim Root and John Marx and the entire 93rd BG organization for a wonderful time in Boston. It was a pleasure working with you and I hope we can do it again real soon.
Now that Boston is over, we will be putting our full attention on our July 2023 Heritage League/392nd BG Convention with an add-on tour of Normandy. If you are interested, we ask that you register ASAP and place a refundable deposit so we can get an idea on how many will be attending. We are holding it in July, hoping to see 3rd and 4th generations attend so they may experience where their relatives and friends served. It is a lesson they will never forget.
Our 2023 Membership drive began December 1st. Please don’t forget to renew your membership. The Renewal form is in this Herald and, of course, on our website. Please consider sharing that form with your relatives and friends. We are always looking for new members who can appreciate our mission and legacy.
