At over a mile elevation at Colorado Springs, the recent reunion of the Heritage League, 93rd and the 467th Bomb Groups was indeed a wonderful success. Highlights included the memorabilia and research rooms that provided such a great atmosphere for learning about veterans from World War II; many of whom gave their lives to protect freedom in Europe. We had attendees from Iceland and England. We learned about how Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington DC (where Air Force One is based) was named.
A video presentation of Second Air Division Veterans who could not travel was indeed very nice to see. Their words still mean much to all. At the Memorial Dinner, our candle lighting ceremony was performed to remember those that died in WWII, and all who fought in World War II.
Special thanks must go to Jim Root and John Marx of the 93 BG, Marybeth Dyer and Sue Risley of the Heritage League, and Yvonne Caputo and Peter Horne of the 467th for all their time and effort in the planning of this successful and memorable reunion at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
Our 2025 convention will be in Dayton, Ohio, site of the National Museum of the USAF October 2-5, again with the 93rd Bomb Group Association. Our hotel will be the Hilton Garden Inn/Austin Landing. More information will follow in later Heritage Heralds and on our website. It is also time to renew your annual membership.
